Award in Door Supervision Level 2
To work in the private security industry you must hold a licence granted by the Security Industry Authority (SIA). Working without an SIA licence is a criminal offence. Before applying for your SIA licence you must first gain this qualification.
This 4 day course is for anyone wanting to work as a door supervisor in licenced premises; anyone applying for the SIA Door Supervisor Licence. A Door Supervisor Licence also entitles the holder to work as a security guard.
The role of the door supervisor is to control admission to licensed premises and to ensure that customers have a safe night out. Door supervisors need to be able to control the door, manage conflict situations, document incidents, prevent drugs use and dealing and assist the management in ensuring the premises are run lawfully and responsibly.
To work as a door supervisor you must hold a frontline door supervisor's licence issued by the Security Industry Authority (SIA). To be granted this licence an applicant must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Pass the SIA’s criminality criteria
- Hold a recognised door supervisors qualification- the level 2 Award in Door Supervision
