Course Overview
Emergency First Aid at Work
This 1 day course is a practical training course for persons appointed to take responsibility for First Aid arrangements in the workplace. It is suitable for those employed in a “low risk” working environment. The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course enables the provision of emergency first aid for someone who is injured or becomes ill at work, whereas a qualified First Aider (FAW) has received training that includes EFAW and also equips the first-aider to apply first aid to a range of specific injuries and illnesses. An emergency first-aider is recommended for premises with small numbers of employees, although numbers is not the only factor.
Appointed Persons are not First Aiders and should not attempt to give First Aid for which they have not been trained. To train to become a First aider please see our First Aid at work course.
