Course Overview

Award for Upskilling Door Supervisors (UDS) Level 2

Existing door supervisors who achieved their door supervisor qualification before August 2010 must undertake additional training in order to renew their SIA licence. Door supervisor courses sat before August 2010 did not include physical interventions or safety awareness, this new course will upskill door supervisors to the level attained by those who took a course and qualification after August 2010. This is a 1 day course with a workbook to be completed prior to attending the face-to-face training.

Course Content

The new Safety Awareness for Door Supervisors unit of assessment and workbook has been developed to cover the following subjects within the security sector:

  • Counter Terrorism
  • First Aid Awareness
  • Dealing with Children and Young People

The workbook will be sent to the learner before the commencement of the course and must be completed by him or her and brought to the course.

Assessment

Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry - assessed by a practical test and a written True/False test that is set by the awarding body and marked by the tutor. Safety Awareness for Door Supervisors - assessed by a 10-question multiple-choice examination that is set by the awarding body and marked by the tutor.
